We are not alone in the struggle

1 Peter 5 tells us that we are not alone in our fight with the powers of Darkness.

Peter tells us to “be sober and vigilant. Your opponent the Devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist Him, steadfast in faith, knowing that your brothers and sisters throughout the world undergo the same sufferings.” I find this consoling. I am not alone in my journey to God. There are many others on the road with me. The Devil seeks to derail us from our goal, but we march on. I have been reading recently about small groups of college students who join various religious associations in fellowship and faith building. Alone in large secular universities/colleges, they flounder when it comes to their faith. Coming together, they flourish. They find strength in community. And they have a lot of good times together. We are not meant to walk the journey of faith alone but with like-mind others. No man (or woman) is an island. Remember that slogan of bygone years. No one of us stands alone. For those of us who believe, Jesus bonds us together, and the snares of the Devil cannot harm us. Do I believe?
